Foodpanda has appointed former Ebay executive Ryan Lai as the delivery company’s new managing director in Hong Kong.
Inside Retail Asia reports Lai, who was the previous head of Southeast Asia and head of category management for automotive in Greater China with eBay, will lead the growth and strategic development of Foodpanda’s online-delivery platform in Hong Kong, including its foray into groceries and catering.
Lai has more than 15-years experience in the tech sector and is personally involved in building and coaching multiple incubated start-ups at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park in areas including omnichannel commerce, big data and micro-influencer marketing.
“I am confident that we can build on the already solid foundation of success, and continue to provide the best experiences and solutions to our Foodpanda community of stakeholders,” said Lai, commenting on his new role.
