Denmark-based shipping giant Maersk Line has revealed that it is supplementing recent changes to its North America-Middle East/Indian Subcontinent trade by making general rate increases, a move to ensure continued investment in the future of the trade.

Enhancements to the service have included the deployment of an additional vessel on its MECL2 service as well as a call at Houston in the US, and the addition of a Miami call to its WestMed service.

Elsewhere, the MECL1 schedule now offers faster transit to Norfolk, the group said, while the addition of Colombo to its Eastbound leg has provided faster transit times to Sri Lanka and South India.

'Because of these investments, we have the broadest coverage, the fastest transits in key tradelines, and the most direct service in the market,' the group said in a press release.
