Kiwifruit Vine Health (KVH) has revealed that the number of Psa-V infected orchards in New Zealand has soared in the past week (to 26 September), as several packhouses update the status of their orchards.
According to the KVH Psa bulletin, the number of new orchards identified with Psa-V stood at 155 for the week-long period, taking the total number in the country to 1,579.
Of the 155 newly-identified orchards, 73 are located in the Te Puke region, 26 are in Whakatane, eight are in Tauranga East, 20 in Tauranga West, 12 in Optotiki and 16 are in Katikati.
