New Zealand kiwifruit production

New Zealand's kiwifruit industry could be set for a boost, with an anouncement set to be made on the declaration of the Psa outbreak as an adverse event.

David Carter, the minister at the office of Primary Industries, said that a decion is due to be made soon, Radio New Zealand reported.

If the outbreak is declared an adverse event, it could mean increased financial and social support for growers, including emergency unemployment benefits, flexible tax requirements and recovery coordinators.
