The Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Market in Guangzhou was the site for a festival promoting Pakistani mangoes this week with the aim of raising awareness of the fruit in southern China according to local news sources.
The festival was held on 30 July and was attended by Canjiang Ye, president of Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Market, Diyar Khan, consul general of Pakistan’s consulate in Guangzhou, local businessmen, Pakistani community members and the general public a report from The News International said.
Speaking at the event, Khan welcomed the holding of the event at such a significant location and expressed gratitude to the organisers for developing a high publicity event to launch and promote Pakistani mangoes.
Khan extolled the quality of Pakistani mangoes and said he hoped the event will help introduce the varieties that were on show to the large market in southern China according to the report.
