Fruit and vegetable exports from Pakistan have skyrocketed in the last year, according to a report from the Pakistan Times.
Vegetable exports grew by 64.95 per cent in the 11 months to 31 May, hitting a value of US$109.87m with one month to go in the 2009/10 financial year, a big increase on the US$66.67m exported for the entire 2008/09 financial year.
Fruit exports are also well up, recording a 57.47 per cent increase to the end of May, compared with the same period last year.
Fruit exports to 31 May stood at US$224.16m, a big jump on the US$142.34m shipped in 2008/09.
