A 13-member delegation from Pakistan's Balochistan's province is on a five-day visit to Malaysia to explore marketing opportunities for Pakistani agricultural products, Malaysia's national news agency Bernama has reported.
The delegates hail from Balochistan's Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative, Chamber of Agriculture and Horticulture Cooperative Society.
"The delegation will hold meetings to promote bilateral ties in production, preservation, packaging and marketing of fruits and vegetables produced in Balochistan," said Wajiullah Kundi , commercial counsellor at the Pakistan High Commission.
According to Mr Kundi, the delegation will hold meetings with the president and members of the Malaysian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority, the Malaysian Fruit Exporters Association and the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry.
"The delegates will also study marketing of fruits and vegetables and the price mechanisms practised by the local wholesalers and retailers, and consumer preferences for fruits and vegetables," he said.
Mr Kundi added that the party would visit a wholesale market at Selayang, Malaysian Agrifood Corporation (MAFC) and Giant Hypermarket's vegetables and cash crop unit.
