Norbert Dentressangle has established a new representative office in Vietnam as part of the global expansion of its freight forwarding division.

A subsidiary of the company’s established Chinese freight forwarding business, the office inHanoi will initially focus on services between Vietnam and China.

Exports between the two countries are forecast to rise by 18 per cent per annum from 2013 to 2015.

Vietnam has also upgraded its target for global export revenue in 2013 to US$126bn, with China now the third largest importer of Vietnamese products after the US and Japan.

Norbert Dentressangle Overseas managing director, Guillaume Col, said developing a foothold in Vietnam was essential, with expansion set to follow.

“The new office in Vietnam gives us a presence in one of the most dynamic emerging countries in the East Asia region.

“In the short term, the new office will enhance the service we offer to customers in China and, over time, will expand to Vietnam’s other major trading partners.”
