Chinese company continues to collaborate with top NZ companies like Zespri and Rockit, deepening cooperation between the countries

On 8 November, Todd McClay, New Zealand minister of trade, Grahame Morton, New Zealand ambassador to China, and a delegation of representatives from New Zealand government and enterprises visited Joy Wing Mau Group, where they were warmly received by Jason Zhang, chairman and CEO of Joy Wing Mau Group.

The delegation led by Todd McClay visits Joy Wing Mau Group 

As the first Chinese fruit company visited during the minister’s official trip to China, Joy Wing Mau Group showcased its leadership in China-New Zealand fruit trade, highlighting the significant progress in the bilateral fruit trade cooperation. The achievements of the group and its collaboration with New Zealand fruit and vegetable exporters have left a deep impression on the New Zealand government officials. 

This year, Joy Wing Mau Group has achieved notable milestones. It was the first fruit company visited by the New Zealand Ambassador to China during his initial official trip to Shenzhen. During Premier Li Qiang’s state visit to New Zealand, Zhang was invited to attend the China-New Zealand Bilateral Business Cooperation Signing Ceremony, where he had in-depth conversation with New Zealand Prime Minister Luxon. The visit by McClay is another testament to Joy Wing Mau Group’s high recognition from the New Zealand government.  

Leveraging its digital, smart, and automated systems and infrastructure, Joy Wing Mau Group continues to enhance supply chain efficiency in the fruit industry and maintain sustainable growth, building up new momentum for the China-New Zealand fruit trade cooperation.

Discussion between Joy Wing Mau Group and the New Zealand Delegation

The delegation led by McClay began their visit to Joy Wing Mau Group with a tour of Asia’s first fully automated vertical coldstorage facility for fruits and vegetables, experiencing firsthand Joy Wing Mau Group’s leading digital cold chain logistics system that empowers the future of the industry. Joy Wing Mau Group introduced the company’s collaborative efforts with New Zealand’s top fruit enterprises to bring premium New Zealand fruits to the Chinese market. McClay praised Joy Wing Mau Group’s digital capabilities and its outstanding contributions to a strengthened China-New Zealand trade and economic relations as well as the quality development of the China-New Zealand fruit trade.  

Zhang expressed a warm welcome to McClay and the delegation, emphasising that Joy Wing Mau Group’s achievements are made due to the substantial support from New Zealand side, including New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), embassy and consulates, and local farmers. He stated that the company will continue to collaborate with top New Zealand enterprises, such as Zespri and Rockit, to deepen trade cooperation between China and New Zealand.
