CMA CGM

The world's third-largest container shipping company CMA CGM Group will launch a weekly service on 18 July connecting Asia, Fiji and New Zealand.

The service will incorporate seven ships and will be the only one to offer two ports of call in both the north and south islands of New Zealand.

It will also boast the fastest transit times from Asia to Suva along with a 17-day shipping time between Auckland and Shanghai, and a 16-day shipping time between Tauranga and Port Kelang.

Other ports in the region can also be reached through connexions with other shipping lines.

CMA CGM vice president Africa, Indian Ocean, Oceania Lines Stephane Courquin said the service would provide more reefer vessels to cater to the growing need for refrigerated transport on these routes.

“The launch of this new service shows the willingness of CMA CGM Group to consolidate its offer on the South Pacific market, in order to support the strong demand for transport linked to the boom in Asian exports to this market,” he added.
