French shipping group CMA CGM has announced the introduction of the latest weekly service in its French Asia Line (FAL) network, linking Asia and Europe.
The FAL 5, operated in partnership with Maersk Line, will deploy a total of 10 vessels (five CMA CGM vessels) of 13,000 TEU covering a rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai,Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Port Kelang, Singapore, Ningbo.
Operating as per the slow steaming principle, the service has been introduced to ensure 'flawless punctuality', CMA CGM said, and comes in addition to the 11 existing FAL services on the Asia-Europe route.
'The launching of the FAL5 service, just in time for the Westbound Peak Season, provides CMA CGM customers with a unique combination of fast transit times and optimum port coverage,' said the group's senior vice-president Asia Europe lines Nicolas Sartini. 'The service is also connected to a wide range of in-house feeders, barges and rail services in Asia and Europe, offering door-to-door transports that allow CMA CGM to propose tailor made solutions to its clients.'
