After the resignation of Steve Cain, Scott Marshall will now take over as CEO of supermarkets and convenience at Metcash.
Marshall has been with Metcash as CEO of Liquor for the past four years and has been with the company for more than 25 years, according to Retail World.
Cain’s resignation comes after the three years of commuting from Melbourne to Sydney for the role. He has now accepted a position as managing director at Coles based in his home city of Melbourne.
“We understand Steven’s decision to be based in Melbourne and thank him for his contribution in this role as CEO of Supermarkets & Convenience,” said Metcash Group CEO, Jeff Adams.
Adams was appointed to the role of CEO in December last year.
Rod Pritchard, who was formerly general manager merchandise for liquor has been appointed in Marshall’s place as CEO of liquor.
