BanaBay has opened a dedicated office in Shanghai following rapid growth in China and strong interest from other areas in Asia.
The rapidly-expanding banana supplier, which has its roots in the UK and Ecuador, has secured five 'significant' customers across six new ports in China over the last year, and expect to be shipping 150 containers of bananas a week by the end of 2015.
'What’s more,' BanaBay MD Mark O'Sullivan said, 'we have exciting plans to extend our product range and will be introducing new lines to meet rising demand.
“Therefore, we are delighted to announce the opening of a dedicated BanaBay office in Shanghai, enabling us to provide our valued customers with a direct contact, strategically based at the port, with an operations manager who understands the local marketplace and can respond immediately and effectively to all requirements.”
David Guo (Guo Sihao) has been appointed as that operations manager for BanaBay’s new Shanghai office.
According to O'Sullivan, Guo - a former client manager with the Bank of Shanghai - has a strong financial background and an in-depth understanding of the Chinese business environment.
