Global retail giant Walmart has announced its replacements for two of the company’s top executives in China.

According to a report by the Associated Press, the retailer has appointed Mario-Jose Medina as head of its financial operations in the country.

Mr Medina has moved within the company from his former role as chief financial officer for Walmart Chile.

The company also announced that Del Slonekar would take up the position of chief operating officer in China.

The two positions were vacated when the previous chief financial officer in China, Roland Lawrence, and the company’s chief operating officer there, Rob Cissell, stepped down several weeks ago.

The report also stated that since entering the Chinese market in 1996 Walmart now operates over 300 hundred stores in over 120 cities.
