Australian fresh produce suppler-distributor group OneHarvest has brought on a new chief executive officer this week, with outgoing CEO Rob Robson putting the helm in the hands of Robin Poynton.
Mr Robson, a member of the family that has run OneHarvest for three generations, will stay on with the company in a new role.
“I would like to acknowledge the formal appointment of Robin Poynton to the role of chief executive officer of the OneHarvest group of companies,” Mr Robson said in a statement. “I am stepping into the new realm of Founder and will continue to participate actively as a director and board member in strategic development and corporate governance.”
Mr Poynton joined the company in 2003 as chief operating officer of bagged salad arm Harvest FreshCuts, following on from work in the FMCG sector. He recently took over operations across the group.
“Pamela and I are confident in the capabilities of Robin and the executive team, and with the support of the board, look forward to the next chapter in the OneHarvest story,” said Mr Robson.
OneHarvest is also now seeking an independent director to join its board. Ray Magill will stay on as the board’s chairman, the company said.
The OneHarvest group is one of Australia’s largest suppliers of salad lines, mangoes, melons and avocados.
