A fruit and vegetable wholesale market will be established in the city of Yangon in Myanmar, to be the first of its kind in the region.
The new 34ha market will include cold storage facilities and will be implemented under a public-private partnership, according Global New Light of Myanmar.
The Yanong regional government has invited local companies to submit tenders offers for the market along with designs for the project, with the closing date for tenders set at 1 January 2015. The new market is part of a broader plan to set up wholesale markets across Myanmar, in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and Muse as well as Yangon, which was announced in earlier this year in February.
