Mark Pidgeon has joined Australian stonefruit grower-packer-marketer Cutri Fruit as the company’s new export manager.
The appointment comes during a period of steady expansion at Cutri Fruit, with the third-generation family business purchasing new farmland, doubling its production base and increasing its already-sizable packing facility over recent years.
“As the business continues to grow and move from strength to strength, we felt it was the right time to bring in more high-level staff to add further value to the successful exporting arm of the business,” Cutri Fruit chief executive Gaethan Cutri said. “We are very excited to have someone of Mark’s experience and knowledge join our team.”
Pidgeon has 20 years of experience in the fresh produce industry and has spent the last nine years in a sales and marketing role with United Exports.
“I really enjoy the relationships built and friendships made in the fresh produce game,” Pidgeon said. “The fruit business is a relationship business and we are fortunate to get to meet some of the best people on the planet.
“Cutri Fruit is entering an exciting period producing great fruit varieties with a focus on eating quality. This is lining up with a more competitive Australian currency and continuing growth in the Asian economic sphere.”
