Global shipping giant Maersk is to hike rates on cargo moving from Asia to Australia at the start of August.
Rates for cargo travelling from both North Asia and South East Asia are to increase by US$300 per TEU and US$600 per FEU.
The shipping line will also impose the same rates increases on cargo moving from Far East Asia to South Africa.
Meanwhile, Maersk will hike rates on cargo moving from Far East Asia to the east coast of South America on 15 July. Rates will increase by US$500 per TEU and US$1,000 per FEU.
