Maersk has announced the appointment of Bo Wegener as the new cluster manager for Thailand, and Dawid Sold as country manager for Myanmar.
“With the recent establishment of our own office in Yangon, we are uniquely positions to service customers’ growing demand for high-quality container shipping services to and from Myanmar,” Wegener told Seatrade Global.
Dawid Sold will be reporting directly to Wegener as the country manager in Myanmar, where Maersk obtained a permanent operating license for its container operations earlier this year.
“Myanmar is in the developmental stage and it opens up great business opportunities for our customers,” said Sold.
The new appointments come just one week after Maersk announced Lars Mikael Jensen as the regional CEO of Asia-Pacific, beginning 1 September.
