The AP Moller/Maersk Group has appointed 39-year-old Nicolaj Noes as manager of its container shipping arm Maersk Line's Australian operations, Transport and Logistics News has reported.
Mr Noes will begin the new role from 2 August and will be based in Sydney where he will report directly to Asia-Pacific chief executive Jesper Praestensgaard.
He was previously employed as the company's route director for Oceania trade, based in Copenhagen, and Mr Noes brings extensive leadership experience from the UK, US and China.
He will succeed Soren Houman in the position, who is relocating back to Denmark to take up a new position within the AP Moller/Maersk Group.
