California-based agribusiness Limoneira and leading citrus grower-packer-marketer Suntreat have announced further go-to-market strategic initiatives.
Limoneira’s director of global sales, John Carter, said that by furthering business collaboration with Suntreat, his company would build on its One World of Citrus model, leading to increased sales in North American and international markets.
“Our goal is to be everything citrus to our global customer base and provide best-in-class quality and consistency,” Carter explained. “We’ll get them the varieties they want whenever and wherever they want them.”
Suntreat, part of the AC Foods family, is also on the expansion path. The company is increasing its acreage in the San Joaquin Valley, where it grows a range of citrus varieties including lemons and oranges.
“Our companies have complementary strengths and this alliance enables us to continue to be the preferred partner for our customers with citrus,” said Darren Filkins, president of Suntreat. “Just as important, it will enable both entities to realise strategic goals even more quickly.”
