Shane Chisholm has been appointed chief executive of South Australia’s Lenswood Apples.
Chisholm joins the grower-owned cooperative from heating and cooling firm Seeley International. Prior to joining to Seeley, Chisholm was a long-term member of Elders’ national team.
In an article published on Apple & Pear Australia’s (APAL) website, Lenswood chairman Iain Evans said Chisholm’s appointment was an indication the cooperative, and the apple industry in the Adelaide Hills, were recovering after two years of hail-affected crops.
“It is a positive step,” Evans explained. “It’s exciting to get someone of Shane’s calibre, who comes from an agricultural background, with experience of exporting and of grower communities, who understands the seasonality of agricultural industries. Just as importantly, he brings a sense of values and integrity.”
Chisholm will officially step into the role on 10 October.
