A celebration has been held at Kuehne & Nagel's (K&N) Schindellegi headquarters in Switzerland to honour the group's chief executive officer Reinhard Lange, who has been with the logistics group for 40 years.
In an address, executive vice-chairman Karl Gernandt highlighted Lange's professional career at the company, including a number of different roles such as heading up the import division, the seafreight business in the Asia Pacific region, and being a member of the management board at K&N Germany.
Lange moved to the position of CEO following a successful spell managing the group's global sea and airfreight business, and has stood out for his 'specialised knowledge, customer focus and loyalty to the company, according to Gernandt.
Klaus-Michael Kuehne, chairman of the board of directors and majority shareholder at the group, thanked Lange for his 'significant contributions' to the development of K&N and the 'outstanding results' he had achieved – particularly during the crisis year of 2009 and the worldwide implementation of the group's growth strategy.
