Plans are afoot in Kazakhstan's Akmola region for a multi-million-dollar greenhouse complex for organic vegetable production, reports Media Akmola Ortalygy.
The state-of-the-art complex is expected to cover 42,448m2 and is designed for tomato, cucumber, sprout and leafy vegetable production.
Finnish company Schetelig OY is understood to be overseeing the greenhouse complex construction, which is expected to cost US$15.8m.
The project is scheduled for launch in 2015, and is reportedly funded by Schetelig OY (21 per cent) and KazAgroFinance JSC (79 per cent).
