Japan’s External Trade Organisation (Jetro) in Vietnam has launched a ‘Japan Fair’ to promote lines sold at Japanese convenience stores in the South East Asian nation.
Kicking off the fair on 19 November in Ho Chi Minh City, some 73 Japanese food products will be promoted at 124 Familymart stores, 71 MInistop shoes and four Aeon centres across Vietnam, reports Vietnam Net.
Chief representative of Jetro Vietnam, Takimoto Koji, said Japanese companies are introducing more brands and products to Vietnamese consumers, while Japanese retailers are expected to expand their store presence.
There are almost 200 Japanese convenience stores in Vietnam, according to Jetro, with Ministop to double its operations in 2017, and Familymart also looking to expand.
