Two of Japan’s leading fruit producing municipalities look set to team-up in a bid to boost exports, according to the Japan News.
The proposed partnership would see the Yamanashi and Shizuoka provinces work together to increase fresh produce sales in South East Asia. The Japan News suggested the promotional programme would be themed around Mt Fuji as the two prefectureslie next to the popular tourist destination.
The move comes as growers and exporters from Yamanashi work to set up sales bases in Malaysia and Singapore ahead of the Japanese summer.
