Vietnamese mangoes from the Xuan Loc district in the Dong Nai province have gained access to Japan, according to the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery granted access for the Vietnamese mangoes following a Japanese business delegation to the Xuan Loc district.
Local news site Dang Con Sang has reported that delegates were impressed with the district's mango production and were looking for ways to invest in high-tech production in the region, with Dong Na to expand its mango plantations from 30ha to 50ha, under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
Gaining access to Japan for its mangoes is just one of several export markets that have opened for the South East Asian nation this year, including access for Vietnamese lychees to Australia and France.
