Indonesia and New Zealand have announced plans to boost bilateral trade following the 7th Indonesia-New Zealand Joint Ministerial Commission in Auckland on 3 March.
Indonesian foreign minister Retno Marsudi and New Zealand’s foreign minister Murray McCully said increased agricultural trade, investments and defense cooperation were part of the new agreements, according to the Jakarta Post.
Part of the agreements has been an increase in Indonesia exports of fresh fruit including mangosteen, salak and mango, with the aim of boosting overall bilateral trade from US$1.3bn in 2014 to US$3.08bn by 2024.
New Zealand prime minster John Key is expected to visit Indonesia later this year.
