India and Indonesia have established an agreement to enhance collaboration on horticulture, management of natural resources, agricultural engineering, crop science and food processing after a meeting in Bali on 26-27 March.
This agreement comes after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in December 2008 for cooperation in the agricultural field.
In pursuance of the MoU, the two countries established a Joint Working Group on Agriculture. According to an Indian press release, the meeting on 26-27 March was the group’s second and saw officials and experts from the Indian ministries of agricultural and food processing travel to meet with their Indonesian counterparts.
As well as the two countries agreeing to enhance collaboration through projects in the aforementioned areas, they concurred on building mutual capacity through exchange of scientists.
