The Chinese fruit distribution giant, headquartered in Chongqing in southwest China, is the Official Fresh Produce Partner to Asia Fruit Logistica 2023, which takes place on 6-8 September at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

With a focus on end-to-end supply chain management, Hongjiu Fruit sources fresh fruit directly from growers all over the world as well as domestically within China and distributes to retailers nationwide.

Established in 2002, Hongjiu Fruit listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 5 September 2022. The group achieved global revenue of over Rmb15bn (approximately US$2.1bn) last year, representing a four-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 90 per cent. Hongjiu Fruit is looking forward to showcasing its capabilities on the global stage at Asia Fruit Logistica 2023.

“We are honoured to be the Official Fresh Produce Partner of Asia Fruit Logistica, and we’re committed to facilitating the development of the global fruit business, shaping the future of the industry,” said Deng Hongjiu, chairman and founder of Hongjiu Fruit.

“This is Hongjiu Fruit’s first year exhibiting at Asia Fruit Logistica. We’re looking forward to making our debut and we see Asia Fruit Logistica as a key international platform where we can share our experience and our corporate philosophy and values with the whole industry.”

Hongjiu Fruit is exhibiting a wide range of fresh fruits at Asia Fruit Logistica, including key import lines from South-East Asia and South America, and domestically grown fruits from mainland China. The company is showcasing its core brands such as Thai Yummy, Yopretty, and Finest All, which have a reputation for providing quality fruit products nationwide across multiple channels. These include major supermarket chains, wholesale markets, and emerging channels such as e-commerce livestreaming, community-based fresh-food chain stores and local services platforms.

“We select premium quality fruits from supply origins all over the world and we’ve established compelling competitive advantages for our products,” said Deng. “We’ve imported durian, mangosteen and longan from Thailand, dragon fruit from Vietnam and cherries from Chile as well as supplying high-quality domestically grown fruits from mainland China. We focus on top-quality varieties, building a brand strategy and meeting the growing demand for branded fruits in China.”

’Durian train’ first

Hongjiu Fruit recently celebrated a milestone when its ‘Hongjiu Thai Yummy durian train’ service departed Thailand on 8 June bound for Chongqing, successfully completing the journey in four days.

“The dedicated durian train passed through Thailand, Laos and China, carrying around 500 tonnes of Hongjiu Thai Yummy durian,” said Deng. “By leveraging our leading position in domestic durian distribution and the end-to-end advantage of an advanced digitalised supply chain, Hongjiu Fruit managed to set a precedent with the first operation of a durian train.”

David Axiotis, managing director of Asia Fruit Logistica organiser Global Produce Events, welcomed the trade show’s partnership with Hongjiu Fruit.

“We’re delighted that Hongjiu Fruit is our first-ever Official Fresh Produce Partner at Asia Fruit Logistica,” said Axiotis.

“As a leading distributor in the China market, Hongjiu Fruit is clearly committed to capitalising on the great growth potential across the country and working with local and global partners to advance the industry.

“Asia Fruit Logistica is the perfect platform for Hongjiu Fruit to showcase its brands and capabilities to the global fresh fruit and vegetable business, meet with new and existing customers, and build productive partnerships. We wish Hongjiu Fruit great success and prosperous business at Asia Fruit Logistica.”
