As part of the voyage, the 13,100 TEU-capacity Hanjin Sooho berthed at the Port of Hamburg on 4 May, handled at the Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg.

The Hanjin Sooho is deployed on the NE6 container line operated jointly with Cosco, K-Line and Yang Ming. In 2011 a total of 5.2m TEU were handled in the Port of Hamburg’s container traffic with Asia, with Patrick Won pointing out that the forthcoming deepening of the navigational channel of the Lower and Outer Elbe would further boost Hamburg’s attractiveness as the European hub port for so-called mega ships.
