New Zealand’s green kiwifruit growers are set to enjoy their highest average returns on record, according to media reports.
Zespri chairman Peter McBride told SunLive average per tray returns for Hayward will be at NZ$5.23, up on the NZ$5.01 the single desk marketer had predicted earlier this season.
Returns for the industry’s new green variety, G14, will be above NZ$9.60, while organic green growers can expect to receive around NZ$7 a tray. Gold returns are estimated at NZ$12.60 per tray.
Zespri has also announced a revised forecast for net profit of between NZ$13m and NZ$15m.
