Chinese fresh produce import/export company Goodfarmer has become a member of GlobalGAP. Xie Hongqin, Goodfarmer’s deputy general manager, said joining the produce industry’s leading international certification standards provider would help promote its offerings as being among the safest and cleanest in the People’s Republic.
“Becoming a GlobalGAP member adds great value to our company and its products, as it demonstrates our commitment to good agricultural practices,” Hongqin explained. “It also enables us to participate in farm consultancy projects and helps us actively spread food safety awareness in our country. Gaining first-hand information about GlobalGAP’s innovations, products and tools supports our company’s mission to become a top high-quality agricultural products supply chain manager.”
More than 90 percent of Goodfarmer’s exported products are labeled under its own brand. The Goodfarmer brand has been GlobalGAP certified for seven consecutive years for its core lines – apples, ginger, garlic, pears and sweet pomelos.
Goodfarmer imports fresh fruit from across the globe, including Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Vietnam, and the US. The company operates more than 20 distribution centers across Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chengdu and Zhengzhou.
