Turners & Growers (T&G) subsidiary Enza has doubled its exports of Italian-grown kiwifruit to Hong Kong over the past year.
The company is now shipping two containers of Italian ENZAGreen-branded kiwifruit into the Hong Kong/China market per week, T&G’s development manager Murray Malone said.
Enza began shipping kiwifruit from its Italian and Chilean operations to Hong Kong and China three years ago, and the fruit is being sold in wholesale and retail outlets throughout Hong Kong and mainland China.
“The Italian fruit, which has just arrived, is of a very high quality and is part of Enza’s focus on building the presence established for Enza brand kiwifruit in the Chinese market,” stated Mr Malone.
Enza grows kiwifruit in eight countries, and hopes its programme of 12-month supply to the Chinese market will make it a leading brand in the market.
From its Chinese production, the company also sells its ENZARed kiwifruit in the market, as well as exporting small volumes to Europe and Asia.
