Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Dubai-based Emirates Airline, yesterday (September 12) launched its new Far East and Australasia service freighter route.

The weekly service, operated by its new Boeing 777 freighter, will fly Dubai-Singapore-Sydney-Hong Kong-Dubai, and can link businesses to Emirates' global network via its Dubai hub, the carrier said in a press release.

The Boeing 777F has the capacity to carry up to 103 tonnes of freight, and will depart Dubai every Sunday.

"This new route not only bolsters capacity, it provides our customers with more options and increased trade opportunities," said Emirates' Hiran Perera.

"`It` takes our import capacity to Australia to 1,370 tonnes per week, .. and is further testament of our commitment to facilitating international trade for business in the region."

Emirates SkyCargo currently serves a global route network of over 114 destinations in 67 countries.
