The Nonthaburi-headquartered group said it had seen over 30 per cent growth in its emerging markets of Africa and Latin America last year, while expanding its R&D operations in Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Philippines and its home country of Thailand.

”For us at East-West Seed, 2023 has been a year of learning, growing, and deepening our commitment to our purpose of serving farmers,” it stated.

”Our latest annual review highlights our growth in our emerging markets, our strengthened dedication to innovation, and the value-added services we continue to offer to our farmers.”

Other takeaways from the review included East-West reaching over 3,000 farmers in India and Nigeria through its digital farmer support programme, and training over 160,000 farmers on sustainable and profitable farming practices through East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer.

The group said it reduced grid dependence by over 50 per cent with rooftop solar installations in our seed processing facilities across seven countries.

In addition, East-West received the Renewable Energy Adoption Award at the ESGBusiness Awards 2023 and the Thailand Technology Excellence Award for Digital Agriculture at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2023.
