With the New Zealand cherry season drawing to a close, Freshmax NZ is turning its attention to the 2018 Munch’n kiwiberry campaign.
Freshmax NZ has been in close contact with kiwiberry growers following one of the hottest New Zealand summers on record, with the general consensus pointing towards an early harvest. The first Munch’n kiwiberries are expected to be with export customers in the second week of February.
“Plentiful sunshine has ensured that the flavour isoutstanding and we are confident that our loyal consumers will agree' explained TraceyBurns, export division manager at Freshmax NZ.
Burns said the Munch’n export programme would be accompanied by a strong marketing campaign, fronted by the popular ‘Munch’n man’.
Freshmax NZ are about to wrap up sales programmes for their Pickers Best cherry brand. With high yields and an extended harvest window this season, demand from key Asian markets has been rising over recent weeks as Chinese New Year approaches.
'Our customers have been delighted with the Pickers Best cherries this season and feedback has been really positive for all aspects of supply,” Burns said.
