Darren Drury has been appointed Enza’s international sales director for apples.
Drury will also retain his position a general manager of Delica Global, welcoming the challenge of the dual role within New Zealand’s Turners and Growers group.
“As Enza's international sales director for apples I hope to create a clear aligned strategy for the apple category,” Drury said. “We are currently creating a blueprint for our business that gives clear targets and goals as to where we are going with our unique brand.
“My role as general manager of Delica Global is challenging and complex. Each supply region has its own characteristics and understanding the nuances and traits of dealing with local suppliers is the difference between success and failure.
“A big advantage we have as a business is we have an incredibly strong information network and this allows us to make very informed strategic decisions.”
Drury brings a wealth of industry experience into the new role.
He played a leading hand in establishing horticultural export company Fresh Pacific Exports, which was then bought by Freshmax in 2000.
He also set up his own export business, NZ Exports Ltd, which merged with Delica Limited (New Zealand) in 2004.
“Both roles will see Darren utilising his skills on the international front and working closely with the Turners & Growers' Apple team as well as the Global Marketing team,” Turners & Growers said in a statement.
