Chinese citrus producer Dongfang Modern Agriculture has appointed Jason Culpeper as company secretary and director of its Australian subsidiary DFM Group Australia. Culpeper steps into the dual role after the resignation of Gregg Starr.
Dongfang Modern listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) last year and has publically expressed its desire to explore investments in Australia that are complementary to its business strategy.
Culpeper will be based in DFM Group Australia’s offices in Brisbane, bringing experience as an international charted accountant and senior commercial executive.
“Mr Culpeper has 20 years of experience in senior accounting and commercial roles including working closely with executive teams of ASX listed companies, notably BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and more recently Guilford Coal and Riverside Mining,” Dongfang Modern chief executive Charles So explained to shareholders via the ASX. “His experience extends to capital raising, refinance and growth strategies including engaging with financers (local and global).”
Dongfang Modern has established navel, pomelo and tangerines orchards in the Jiangxi province.
