Transport giant DHL has entered a new partnership with YHF Logistics, which will see the launch of a temperature-controlled rail service between Europe and China.
The year-round service is a multi-model shipping solution for temperature sensitive products, which were previously unable to travel across the trans-continental rail corridor.
A track and trace system has been fitted to all containers on the service, allowing customers to access updates on the location and temperature of their shipments.
A one-way journey lasts 12 days, less than a third of the time it takes to transport cargo by sea freight. YHF operates the Chengdu Express Train along China’s West railway corridor.
