Vancouver-based consultant Dawn Gray will take on a North American business development role with Australasian group Prevar.
Gray most recently served as senior vice president for marketing and categories at the Oppenheimer Group. She has also held business development positions with BC Hot House Foods and Enza International.
“We are delighted that Dawn has taken up this opportunity,” Prevar chief executive Brett Ennis said. “She has enormous standing in the global fruit industry and has significant leadership, sales and marketing experience. Dawn has her own very successful consultancy company (Dawn Gray Global Consultancy) and she will continue in this successful business and meeting the needs of her growing client base.”
A major focus of Gray’s role will be the development of the Piqa pear range, with Prevar currently looking to license the North American commercial rights to these cultivars.
“Prevar has reached a point where it needs additional experienced resource to help develop and promote the opportunities for new apple and pear varieties to US and Canadian pipfruit marketers and growers,” Ennis said.
