Leading Australian fresh produce company Costa has completed extension works on its avocado packing facilityin Central Queensland.
The expanded facility, located in Childers, will create more jobs for the local region through greater packing capacity, allowing both Costa and its third party growers to increase production in the coming years to meet customer demand.
“The Childers region is an important growing area for Costa and investing in this facility means we are making a long term commitment to the region, including the creation of new jobs and employment opportunities for people from within the region,” said Shanon Williams, Costa’s avocado category general manager.
Keith Pitt, federal member for Hinkler, was on hand to officially open the new extension earlier this week.
Funding for the extension was made available through the Australian Government’s Regional Jobs and Investment Package.
