Reefer container shipping, logistics for beginners and airfreight will be the three main topics discussed as part of Cool Logistics Asia’s new open seminar format.
Taking place on the trade floor at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong on 6-8 September, the sessions will feature logistics specialists from all over the globe.
This includes Andy Connell from A-bar-C Services (ex-Dole South Africa) and Alfred Cheung, founder and director JC Food Republic, who will look at the hidden costs and opaque contractual clauses that may put fresh produce consignments at risk on Day 2 (7 September).
Expert advice will also be provided by Jonathan Beard, head of transportation & logistics – Asia at Arcadis, and Raul Saca, global head of reefer segment bananas & pineapple cargo at Maersk USA. Opening the seminar on 6 September, Beard and Saca will examine how forecasting supply and demand of container shipping services is becoming a balancing act.
Oliver Huesmann, CEO of Fruit Consulting, and Frank van Gelder, business director of Adelantex, will round off the programme by providing a mix of daring ideas and solid suggestions for making airfreight more palatable.
The seminar will begin at 2pm each day in Hall 5B, with entry fee for all visitors and exhibitors. The sessions will be chaired by Alex von Stempel, managing director of UK-based Cool Logistics Resources.
