French shipping giant CMA CGM Group has announce that its chairman and CEO Rodolphe Saadé will accompany French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe during his official visit to China.
CMA CGM boasts many ties with China due to its historical foothold, with the company being one of the first transport and logistics companies to establish itself in the country.
The group has some 3,200 collaborators based in China, with 88 maritime services calling 16 Chinese ports and a CMA CGM ship leaves China heading to the rest of the world every three hours.
Having anticipated the major role of China in the global economy, Saadé, founding president of the group, decided to open a first commercial desk in Shanghai in 1992.
The CMA CGM group carries various and numerous products representing the French economy from French ports to China, including agri-food products.
