CMA CGM has announced that it is introducing a new direct call at Vietnam to its FAL3 Asia-Northern Europe service, as it looks to provide customers with an optimum service and unique port coverage between Asia and Europe.
According to the French shipper, the FAL3 service will call westbound at the new deepwater port of Cai Mep from 9 November, adding to a service that serves all of China and includes 10 8,500-9,500 TEU vessels.
The initiative is designed to support the business growth of the group's clients on the Vietnamese market, while CMA CGM is also covering secondary ports of Haiphong, Danang and Qui Nhon through dedicated feeders.
'The CMA CGM offer between Asia and Europe is unique and we are particularly proud to be the first to deploy large vessels calling directly at Cai Mep in Vietnam,' said Nicolas Sartini, senior vice-president for Asia-Europe lines at CMA CGM. 'Thanks to this new call in Vietnam, we are pleased to satisfy our customers requirements.'
The new port rotation for the FAL3 service will be Qingdao, Ningbo, Chiwan, Nansha, Yantian, Cai Mep, Port Kelang Malta, Le Havre, Dunkirk, Zeebrugge, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Southampton, Beirut, Jeddah, Port Kelang and Qingdao.
