Marking its 100th day in operation yesterday, fresh-faced peak industry body Citrus Australia announced it would run a summit of key supply chain figures in concert with retailer Woolworths Supermarkets.
The summit aims to help the industry from growers to retailers better understand the current challenges and opportunities for the Australia citrus industry in the run-up to the start of the season.
Citrus Australia’s chairman, Kevin Cock, said working with both ends of the supply chain had helped the new body with its first few months of planning.
The theme of the summit is ‘Understanding the Citrus Supply Chain’, and will be held 11-12 March in Sydney, and includes a market tour and a workshop.
“This is a valuable opportunity for all sectors of the industry to come together and focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes,” said Mr Cock in a statement.
“The long term success of our industry is dependent on working in partnership with the entire supply chain in order to deliver the best possible product to the end consumer.”
