CMA CGM Callisto at Hamburg

Challenging trading conditions over the past 12 months have prompted a number of the world’s leading shipping lines to launch joint services between Asia and South America’s east coast.

The agreement between CMA CGM, Maersk Line, Hamburg Süd, CSAV, China Shipping Container Lines and Hanjin will create three weekly services departing from Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong and Singapore to Santos and Itapoa.

The new services will commence in July, and will replace four existing services operated by the companies.

“The new services allow for a more cost efficient and flexible network adjusted to the current trading environment and reflects current market demand in the Far East to East Coast South America trade,” said a media release issued by CMA CGM.
