Customers of US-based fresh produce supplier Robinson Fresh will benefit from improved supply chain efficiencies, after the opening of a new service centre in Corona, California, on Wednesday (15 October).
The new facility will be run by transportation and logistics giant CH Robinson, and includes over 17,300 2m of warehouse space. There centre also boasts eight cool rooms and 28 loading docks. The facility has been fit-out with cutting edge air purification technology and cool chain handling processes.
Robinson Fresh will provide temperature controlled distribution services from the site’s central location, which will allow the company to support its national and regional programmes.
Ray Griffin, director of global sourcing at Robinson Fresh, said the service centre would create efficiencies for it customers, in order to address seasonal surges and capacity strains.
“Strategically located operations provide a value-added service that complements our sourcing and transportation expertise and provide a single source solution for customers who seek end- to-end supply chain services,” Griffin explained. “We are positioned to help our customers more efficiently bring their fresh products and dry goods to market.”
Robinson Fresh manages seven additional facilities located in Northeast, Midwest, South, and Southeastern areas of the US.
