Chilean-based blueberry producer South Pacific Trading has teamed up with Californian fresh produce distributor Gourmet Trading Company to supply its line of biodynamic blueberries into the US market this season.
Along with providing lower pesticide residual levels than USDA certified organic offerings, biodynamic blueberries are also superior in taste and storage, according to Chloe Varennes, Gourmet Trading’s marketing manager.
“Over the season we have noticed that biodynamic blueberries have a better quality and shelf life compared to conventional blueberries,” Varennes explained. “Gourmet Trading Company is enthusiastic to offer its retail customers something new for their high end environmentally conscience blueberry consumers.”
Gourmet Trading will also offer organic blueberries across the Chilean season.
