Los Vegas-based Terra Exports is already reaping benefits from its new Central and South American division for tropical fruit.
Based in Colombia, the new division was launched in January with the aim of servicing the global customer base. It will open up doors for Terra Exports to work with suppliers from new sources, including Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, and Brazil.
The move comes in response to growing customer demand, with the company reporting a 200 per cent year-on-year rise in tropical fruit sales for the month of January (2019 compared to 2018).
Terra Exports currently ships a wide range of tropical fruits, including pitahaya, mangoes, pineapples, limes, papaya, watermelon and honeydew melons, with this list set to grow.
“Our customers are very happy, and we are partnering with the best growers around Central and South America to ensure we maintain close relationships to our customers,” said Terra Exports’ Ana Milena Pereira Gallego, who is heading up the new division. “We will continue to create new opportunities to offer new products into new regions at the best prices.”
